Edinburgh Gin, the number one Super Premium gin in UK travel retail, is launching a new gin, Strawberry & Pink Peppercorn, which is exclusive to Dufry.

Edinburgh Gin Strawberry & Pink Peppercorn (1L / 40% ABV / £29.99) is hand-crafted using a blend of traditional gin botanicals, mixed with bright, fresh notes of strawberry and balanced with subtly sweet and spicy pink peppercorns – a combination of fresh, jammy strawberries, finishing with a tastebud-tingling pepper hit. This gin is the perfect berry twist to a classic G&T, topped off with a fresh strawberry and a mint leaf.

This new expression will go into all Dufry’s key World Duty Free stores in the UK, as well as its stores in other main airports in Europe.

Strawberry & Pink Peppercorn will complement the existing Dufry range of full-strength gins, Rhubarb & Ginger, Watermelon & Lime and Classic, along with the three highly popular Edinburgh Gin liqueurs, Rhubarb & Ginger, Raspberry and Elderflower.

It was Edinburgh Gin Raspberry liqueur that led the booming flavoured gin category in 2010; furthermore in 2014 Edinburgh Gin Rhubarb & Ginger liqueur trailblazed this extremely popular flavour combination. This formed the foundation of Edinburgh Gin’s pioneering approach to flavour. More recent examples include the first Dufry exclusive flavour, Watermelon & Lime, which continues to be very successful.

Flavoured gin is driving growth in the category and currently represents 40% of sales in the UK off trade.

Dufry Global Category Head of Liquor, David de Miguel says: “We are delighted to extend our partnership with Ian Macleod Distillers and Edinburgh Gin in Europe. Edinburgh Gin Strawberry & Pink Peppercorn is a wonderful new flavour and the perfect addition to our portfolio.”

Ian Macleod Distillers’ Global Travel Retail Director, William Ovens, says: “The launch of Strawberry & Pink Peppercorn further showcases the flavour, craftsmanship and creativity of Edinburgh Gin. Dufry is the only customer in the world with whom we have developed an on-going programme of exclusive flavours, which illustrates the importance of our strategic partnership.”

The new Edinburgh Gin distillery and visitor centre are to be opened in the heart of Edinburgh in 2023.
