Scottish cashmere and clothing brand Brora is to launch a new store at Edinburgh Airport.
The 800 square foot outlet, which will be located airside in the main terminal building, is set to open in late February 2016 as part of a major redevelopment of the airport’s retail space.
Victoria Stapleton, founder and creative director of Brora, said: “We pitched against various other cashmere brands but the airport chose us for our authenticity, heritage, style and range and as significantly, our commitment to make our cashmere in Scotland.”
Close to 300 workers in and around Hawick rely on Brora for their livelihood and the firm said yesterday that it hoped to re-employ some of those recently made redundant from Hawick Knitwear in the Borders town.
The brand has 15 stores, including branches in London shopping hotspots Sloane Square and Covent Garden.
