Christian Louboutin has launched his first baby shoe style in collaboration with friend Gywneth Paltrow, and her lifestyle brand Goop.

Aptly named the “Loubibaby”, the classic Mary Janes come in pink and blue satin, and shiny gold, with a neat bow positioned on the strap of each flat. And yes, at US$250 a pair, they do have the shoemaker’s signature red soles.

“I remember the first conversation which led us to the collaboration,” Louboutin said of his first foray into baby shoes. “There is nothing that I favour more than a good tete-a-tete, and for that, Gwyneth is a great partner in crime. When friendship meets work, the results are serious fun.”

“Goop’s fashion ethos has always centred on trendless quality,” Paltrow added. Of the four women’s designs that accompany the cutesy children’s pump – a point-toe pump, Parisian pump, ankle boot and loafer – the actress noted: “It was an honour to work with Christian and his team to design the quintessential collection of fall classics: true investment pieces that we – and eventually our daughters and nieces – will wear for years.”

Launching exclusively on Goop.com on November 16. If you want to buy a pair, then you probably don’t need to know how much they will cost – but they will be around US$250 per pair (GB£190)
