DFS Group, the world’s leading luxury travel retailer, recently unveiled its latest retail store at the newly opened Terminal 4, Singapore Changi Airport. Encompassing more than 1,800 square feet, the store introduces two new concepts as well as an impressive collection of over 300 brands.

Redefining the airport retail experience, Terminal 4 is the first at Changi Airport to offer a “walk-through” retail concept, allowing DFS to introduce new features and concepts for a seamless shopping experience. The layout of the new store offers an integrated shopping space covering both liquor and tobacco and cosmetics & perfumes. Travellers are able to purchase their items in a single transaction at common cashier counters, served by team members who are cross-trained on all products in order to enhance the collaborative shopping experience.

Brooke Supernaw, DFS Group’s Senior Vice President Spirits, Wines and Tobacco, Food and Gifts said, “We have been eagerly awaiting the opening of Terminal 4 and are thrilled to officially unveil DFS’ latest store here at Changi Airport. At DFS we are continually seeking to provide our customers with new and innovative retail experiences. In response to the trends we have been observing in the market, we are excited to introduce two new concepts to provide our customers with more ways to engage with and discover new brands.”

Ms Teo Chew Hoon, Group Senior Vice President of Airside Concessions Division at Changi Airport Group, said, “Our vision for Terminal 4 is to continually delight travellers with new retail experiences. CAG is happy to work with DFS to create a first-in-Changi seamless duty-free zone. Passengers can enjoy experiential retail concepts where they can try their hand at mixing cocktails or sample exotic beers and spirits, all in a single retail space. With the addition of Terminal 4 we look forward to welcoming many more travellers to enjoy Changi Airport’s exciting offerings.”

The new store sees the introduction of “The Cocktail Bar”, a collaborative bar space where travellers are encouraged to engage in the basics of cocktail making, and “The Craft Collection”, showcasing a selection of craft and small-batch beers and spirits from around the world that are curated for travelling customers looking for something unique and artisanal. Terminal 4 also sees the return of “The Whiskey House”, following its success at DFS’ Terminal 2 Duplex.

The Cocktail Bar is an open space which encourages travellers to get behind the bar and try out the basics of cocktail making. Its engaging and contemporary décor features classic cocktail essentials as well as new and exciting home-bar additions. Aiming to make cocktails accessible for both connoisseurs and novices alike, a selection of brands will be invited to take over the space and showcase their spirits throughout the year, inspiring travellers to create their favourite cocktails for family and friends in the comfort of their home.

The Craft Collection presents a curated selection of craft and small-batch beers and spirits from around the world, and aims to invoke the stories and passion of a new generation of brewers and distillers who put innovation, authenticity and local culture into everything they do. Three craft beers are available on tap for tasting as well as a rotating selection of spirits. When it comes to assortment, gin is a category that embodies today’s craft movement within spirits. New brands will be introduced to the collection on rotation.

The Whiskey House is “the” destination for travellers to experience the world of whiskeys. From classics that are timeless and special releases crafted to stand out, to exclusive bottlings and single casks. Exploration at The Whiskey House is made easy through complimentary tastings of over 100 different whiskeys based on four basic flavor profiles: Floral and Delicate; Fruity and Elegant; Smokey and Intense; and Rich and Rounded. Master Distillers and Brand Ambassadors will stop by regularly to introduce their new release exclusives with guided tastings and food pairings.

In the world of wines and Champagne, DFS at Terminal 4 boasts an impressive selection of prestige wines, as well as a special collection from Lafite, Mouton and Latour to name a few. Within the store, a curated selection of wine is presented in enomatic tasting machines for guests to sample before they buy.

To celebrate the launch of the store, DFS collaborated with local award-winning bartender Peter Chua of Crackerjack to create three cocktails inspired by Singaporean’s favourite sweet treats.
