The successful cooperation between Gebr. Heinemann and Copenhagen Airport will be extended by ten years. The corresponding contract was signed this week at the headquarters of Gebr. Heinemann in Hamburg. The family-owned retailer and distributor has already been present at Copenhagen Airport since 2007.
At Copenhagen Airport, Gebr. Heinemann operates a total of six shops. The largest is the Main Shop, which currently has around 2,600 square metres and will be expanded by 2026 up to 4,000 square metres. This will create more space especially for regional brands and products across all categories, which are highly requested by travellers. In addition, the convenience for shoppers will be further improved e.g., with digital elements. Other stores are Pier A with 409 square meters, Pier B with 203 square metres, Pier with C 353 square metres, T3 store with 159 square metres and the Arrival Shop 133 square metres.
Part of the shop concept is to create a strong connection to the region. Among other things, many local products are offered. The design of the shops with a lot of wood has a distinctive Scandinavian look and feel. Ambitious sustainability targets are also part of the overall strategy. These are to be defined in close cooperation with the airport.
