Dior’s FW2019 show included new accessories that should be on the shopping list of every fashionista next winter.

The bags:

Among the bags in this new collection, the emblematic Dior Book Tote comes in the same tartans and checks seen on the runway – in green and black, black and white, and red and black – and also bear the English flag or Dior Oblique’s signature code.

A very exclusive shopper is woven entirely in leather, like an homage to Dior cannage.

As a final touch, shoulder straps – such as the ones on the Saddle bag – embellished with motifs and ornaments recall the colors and designs presented in the ready-to-wear show.

The shoes:

A WALK ON THE DIOR SIDE

Tapered and low-cut, these low heels recall Roger Vivier’s designs for Christian Dior in the 1950s. In tartan and check trimmed with strass, or in solid or two-tone patent leather, they create a light, elegant silhouette. The epitome of British style, they’re worn with thin black socks. In contrast, other more sportswear- or punk-leaning looks pair with pointy boots, shoes with metal buckles and rainboots to assert a modern style.

The accessories:

A MODEL ACCESSORY

Inspired by Christian Dior’s nipped-waist silhouettes, Maria Grazia Chiuri’s creations are sculpted by wide belts reprising the iconic curves of the Saddle bag, punctuated with the letter D. Other, thinner black belts bearing the initials “CD” are worn over coats, further underscoring their lines.
