Dubai Duty Free lights up special 20% promotion for Diwali

To mark the upcoming Diwali Festival, Dubai Duty Free rolled out a series of special promotions including a 20% discount offer on November 1st and 2nd for all arriving and departing passengers travelling through Dubai International and Al Maktoum International Airport ahead of the Festival of Lights celebration.

The promotion offers customers a 20% discount on a range of categories on November 1st and 2nd including perfumes and cosmetics, watches, liquor, confectionery, delicatessen and household goods, while certain watch and perfume brands are excluded.

Customers can also avail of this offer online by pre-ordering or upon collection at the time of payment at Dubai Duty Free shops on the same dates.

Commenting on the upcoming Diwali, Colm McLoughlin, Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of Dubai Duty Free said, “Our Indian customers are very important to us and Diwali is the most significant festival for Indians to celebrate all over the world. It is a great opportunity for us to join in the celebrations and to mark this special occasion.”

Themed retail areas for Diwali are in place throughout the retail operation, featuring the most popular products, while Indian staff will dress in traditional attire to add to the authentic atmosphere. Adding sparkle to Diwali offers, an exclusive collection of 24karat gold figurines of Hindu Gods and Goddesses, each representing different powers of the Hindu faith, are also available at Dubai Duty Free.

Diwali – the Indian Festival of Lights, is celebrated every autumn in the northern hemisphere (spring in southern hemisphere). One of the most popular festivals of Hinduism, which symbolises the spiritual “victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance.” It is also a period of gift giving to show love and affection to family members and friends.
