easyJet serves up exclusive Edinburgh Gin Orange & Basil expression

Europe’s leading airline, easyJet has added Edinburgh Gin Orange & Basil into its EAT.DRINK.SHOP ranges for the new 2022 Spring/Summer season.

Edinburgh Gin Orange & Basil is Ian Macleod Distillers’ first listing with easyJet and is exclusive to easyJet within the Global Travel Retail channel for seven months. Passengers can buy 1ltr bottles from the on-board Duty Free shop and also enjoy 5cl bottles from the in-flight bar.

“We are delighted to work with Ian Macleod Distillers to launch the amazing Edinburgh Gin Orange & Basil as an airline exclusive to our range – a natural fit with easyJet,” says In-flight Retail Manager, Michelle Philpot. “This wonderful new flavour is the perfect addition to our on-board range and I’m sure will be a success during the summer.”

Edinburgh Gin Orange & Basil is handcrafted using a blend of traditional gin botanicals mixed with sweet orange peel and fresh basil leaf, allowing the sweetness from the Valencian oranges to blend perfectly with the subtle herbal note from the basil. This new expression launches in the UK domestic market in both the on and off trade in April.

“This new partnership is a very important development in our in-flight business and allows us to share our flavour, craft and creativity with the estimated 30m customers forecast to travel from the UK with easyJet this year,” says Ian Macleod Distillers’ Global Travel Retail Director, William Ovens. “Edinburgh Gin effectively started the flavoured gin movement with the creation of our Raspberry Gin liqueur in 2010 and we have continued to innovate since then. This listing is a great opportunity to showcase Edinburgh Gin and drive trial of this new, unique and exciting, full-strength flavoured gin.”

Edinburgh Gin is the world’s number one gin liqueur and the number one Super Premium gin in UK Travel Retail.
