Danish sustainable men’s grooming brand 99ML by Horstmann has increased its Asia Pacific travel retail footprint through a breakthrough listing at Sydney Airport with Heinemann Australia. The listing builds on an initial foray into the region with Avolta at India’s Bangalore Kempegowda International Airport earlier this year.

Now on sale in the domestic Terminal 2 of Sydney Airport in a dedicated 99ML by Horstmann branded area are seven brand sets, containing combinations of 13 individual 99ML men’s grooming products, all of which are also available with Heinemann as standalone items.

All individual products in the sets, as the name suggests, are 99ml by volume, making them airport security compliant (under the worldwide airport maximum 100ml for liquids rule) and perfect for male travellers who prefer to avoid taking unnecessary bulky grooming items on their trips. Each product is vegan (certified by The Vegan Society), organic and packaged in recyclable materials.

Examples of the sets from the brand now available in travel retail with Heinemann at Sydney include the Vital Travel Kit (containing premium quality Eau de Toilette, Facial Serum and Deodorant) and the Beard Grooming Travel Set (containing Eau de Toilette, Beard Shampoo and Beard Polish).

99ML by Horstmann is made in Italy, with the fragrance which runs through the products developed in Milan. Manufacturing is carried out in the Vicenza-Padua-Venice area, a region well known for producing the world’s best cosmetic products.

All 99ML by Horstmann products display the Horstmann Family Coat of Arms from the year 1350, adding to the premium look of the brand.

Of the new airport business with Heinemann, CEO Johan Horstmann said: “It is a privilege to be working with Heinemann in one of the world’s most exciting airports at Sydney, where passenger traffic is currently rising rapidly, as Australia reasserts itself as one of the key global travel retail markets. Early feedback from Heinemann is very positive for the products in their first few weeks on sale in Heinemann Duty Free.”

Horstmann’s emerging brand is well placed to take advantage of the fast-rising demand for men’s grooming products. Of 99ML by Horstmann products’ fit with travel retail, Johan Horstmann said: “We are the world’s only brand that caters solely for airline passengers. The 100ml rule for airport security is a de facto standard in the world now and with the 99ML by Horstmann products in their hand luggage, male travellers are assured to have what they need for their trip, be it for business or pleasure.

“With consumers demanding brands which put sustainability at the forefront, not least in travel retail, our products hit the mark with their vegan, organic and recyclable nature. We have a premium look, attractive pricing and high-quality scents and ingredients for the products – the quality is underlined by our brand now being listed with two of the world’s great travel retailers in Heinemann and Avolta. This is a very exciting time for our brand and I look forward to announcing more new business in airport retail in the coming months.”
