The Travel Retail Masters is run by The Spirits Business to recognise the strongest spirits brands in global travel retail. The results come at the same time as the unveiling of a new dedicated LARK retail fixture at Heinemann’s Sydney International Departures Terminal on Wednesday 2 September, bringing Whisky From Another World to life in the travel retail channel and giving LARK’s brand world a dedicated, permanent home.

The Atlas Series, including the five-time Gold and Masters-winning Ember Eclipse, showcases Tasmanian single malts matured and finished in rum, Cognac, Mizunara and other exceptional casks from around the globe. The design of the display puts Tasmania at the centre of the experience, with bottles displayed on illuminated plinths against the Tasmanian landscape. Together, these elements bring LARK’s Tasmanian character and sense of place into the travel retail setting.

Stuart Gregor, LARK CEO and Managing Director, said: “This new fixture at SYD shows how serious we are about taking LARK to the world, quite literally. Our partners at Heinemann Australia have been magnificent and have been true business partners who recognise what we are trying to become – Australia’s benchmark whisky business.” And these further awards at the Travel Retail Masters are yet another signal that the range we are building for this channel is right. It is an exciting time for the business right now and we think once travellers have seen this new display, they will be LARK fans forever.”

Rosi Fernandez, Managing Director at Heinemann Oceania, said: “The new LARK display is exactly the kind of experience we want to create at Sydney Airport, something that gives travelers a real reason to explore and discover the best local products. LARK brings together an exceptional Australian whisky story, a strong sense of Tasmanian place, and a beautifully considered retail experience that celebrates craft, quality and discovery. This elevation is part of our plan to build the store of the future, with airport, retailer and brand working together with the customer at the centre. We are proud to create memorable experiences by showcasing the very best of Australian brands to an international audience.”

Gail Taylor, General Manager Retail at Sydney Airport, said: “Supporting Australian-made brands is a key part of our retail strategy at Sydney Airport, and LARK is a great example of the calibre of local product we want to showcase to the world. “As Australia’s international gateway, we have an important opportunity to give travellers a strong sense of place and connect them with premium local brands. This new fixture brings that strategy to life by celebrating Australian craft, quality and innovation in a way that elevates the airport retail experience.”

LARK’s whisky range is available now online at larkdistilling.com, through trade partners, Global Travel Retail and at LARK’s venues in Hobart.
