In association with World Duty Free, UK airports will be the only place you can buy three Miller Harris classic scents this summer.
Miller Harris are a relatively young company, but in the 18 years since their foundation, they’ve launched some iconic perfumes, which have resonated with a discerning customer and become ‘signature scents’ for many. However, over these years some of these classics have been gracefully retired to allow new fragrances to flourish, but now three of these classics are being restored as limited editions for duty-free shoppers to enjoy – as explained below:
“As a niche brand, we need to be mindful of overcrowding the shelves with too many fragrances, so as we innovate, some of our fragrances, despite having a hugely loyal customer base, do come out of our range.
“However, we also understand that perfume is so personal that it can be upsetting when your favourite is suddenly no longer available. As a niche brand with intensely loyal and engaged customers, we do feel a sense of responsibility to them. It seemed that with such a passionate clientele, and with a wealth of discontinued fragrances in our archive, it would be great to re-release the scents that we receive the most requests for, in very limited editions each year.
This year, as part of this programme, World Duty Free customers will find La Pluie, Rose en Noir and Fleur Oriental reintroduced in some locations in limited quantities.”
Rose en Noir is an homage to the voluptuous Turkish rose. A velvety, rich, crimson rose fragrance, opening with sweet raspberries and the green-leather of violet leaf. The tantalising and piquant woodiness of black pepper combines with the Turkish rose. A deeply seductive and textured warmth from musky ambrette seeds, earthy vetiver and patchouli and a surprising black tobacco note carries the trail into the night.Fleur Oriental is the olfactive equivalent of a daring new arrangement of a jazz standard. Speaking of the seductive opulence of golden age cinematic glamour, with a bohemian twist. The powder and cream of the base is present throughout the development, created by sweet heliotrope, golden amber, animalic labdanum and musk with a touch of vanilla. Atop the base is an translucent and evocative blend of orange flower, spicy carnation and velvet Turkish rose, lifted by bright bergamot. Miller Harris London have listened and for a limited time only and with limited quantities a few of our most iconic fragrances will be brought back.La Pluie captures a moment in time: when the sun shone through the clouds after a tropical rainstorm in Mauritius. Sparkling yet tranquil, the opening of tangerine and lavender refreshes a sweet heart of cassis, sultry ylang ylang and dewy jasmine. The calm after the storm is extended through an ethereal treatment of vanilla bourbon from the Reunion islands and vetiver.
