British leather goods house Mulberry has once again turned to its Brit IT girls as the source of creative inspiration.
Mulberry has announced that model and brand ambassador Georgia May Jagger has worked with the brand to create a “dream leather” biker jacket and accessories. Recently, the role of the model has evolved to be much more than just an attractive face seen in advertisements by becoming increasingly hands-on and collaborative.
Mulberry’s announcement by email to customers has a subject line that simply reads “Introducing our new collaboration” without giving much away thus prompting curiosity from the recipient. When the email is opened, text above an image of Jagger wearing the leather biker jacket reads “coming soon” and names the capsule as the “Georgia May Jagger collection.” Further text reminds the consumer that Jagger is also the face of Mulberry’s spring/summer and fall/winter 2015 campaigns.
Although the Georgia May Jagger collection is not yet available, Mulberry’s email gives an interested consumer the opportunity to “register [her] interest” through a newsletter notification. Once the consumer signs up, she will be notified with additional details regarding the collection in due course.
Similarly, fellow British model Cara Delevingne also was featured in Mulberry campaigns before transitioning from ambassador to designing her own collection. Delevingne’s Mulberry line features leather backpacks, crossbody purses and a number of wallets.
