Mondottica’s best-selling Ted Baker eyewear is proving a hit with summer holiday travellers in the UK and Europe.
The British brand’s 2024 range of sunglasses for both men and women is featured in all UK airports, and in selected locations in Southern Europe, with Avolta and Lagardère Travel Retail. Ted Baker sunglasses are also listed with Britanny Ferries and Condor Ferries and inflight with selected airlines.
Ted Baker’s quirky sense of humour and fastidious attention to detail has remained at the heart of the British brand since its birth in 1988, with its SUN24 eyewear collection building on the brand’s dedication to forward-facing designs and bold patterns.
According to Mondottica, this new range is one of Ted Baker’s strongest eyewear collections to date.
For women, oversized ultra-feminine shapes with glamorous 1970’s references take centre-stage. Earthy hues mixed with pastels and softly gradated lenses feature, along with fresh feminine pastels, classic torts with a hint of pearl, and a playful mix of seasonal prints.
For men, luxe-look vintage styling with thicker profiles and strong bevelling dominates. The SUN24 line-up, with its wide temples and mixed metal details, prove the devil is in the detail, with – like everything produced under the Ted Baker name – Ted’s personality woven into its core.
Ted Baker SUN24 Women’s Range
AMARA in Gloss Crystal Purple introduces a distinctive floral-inspired double layered coloured acetate in striking clear purple. Ted Baker signatures on delicate metal temples and Ted Baker ‘T’ on the temple tips finish this go-to style.
Contemporary looks and everyday styling combine in CATRINA, a Solid Black style with a bold square frame featuring a bevelled front with high-definition prints inside the temples. The Ted Baker logo is discreetly hidden in the hinge along with a sparkling gem. Double floral pins on the front of the frames and temples combine with five-barrel hinges in a visible display of Ted Baker’s enduring commitment to quality.
Rounding up the women’s collection is EVIE in a Gloss Wine colourway. The hexagonally shaped frame is crafted from gradated acetate, with bespoke acetate temples in tortoiseshell infusing a mix of delicate pinks and tortoiseshell flecks. Evie also features Ted Baker branding on the lenses.
Ted Baker SUN24 Men’s Range
GARRET in Gloss Black features a chunky acetate frame with linear lines and a stylish black and white gingham print lamination hidden inside the frame. Ted Baker ‘T’ logos are discreetly placed inside each hinge as additional branding points.
Modern vintage, ALFIE in Black provides a contemporary update of a classic Clubmaster design. Key updates include a textured nose bridge in a muted, aged gold colouration. A bespoke temple design leads to a unique bevelled temple tip detail.
BRET in a Crystal Horn Cognac completes Ted Baker’s SUN24 collection for men. This bold style features a thick 6mm acetate frame with a handsome honey coloured graduated front. A bespoke core wire and bevelled detail on each temple tip combine to deliver a standout eyewear style of the Ted Baker season.
Strong presence in travel retail
Mondottica National Account Manager Travel Retail & Sunglasses Louise Porte underlined Ted Baker’s success and strong presence in travel retail.
“This quintessentially British brand is famed for its quirky yet commercial fashion offering, top-quality design detailing, and distinctive use of pattern and colour to create exceptional, individual eyewear. Ted Baker eyewear is as inventive and original as it is upbeat and vibrant – just like the brand itself – which makes for a perfect fit in the travel retail channel.”
According to Louise Porte, Ted Baker as a brand is “aspirational yet still attainable, which is why we have seen such success with it in global travel retail”. “Travelling consumers can buy beautifully detailed, high-quality sunglasses from a desirable brand at an affordable price point, which is even more attractive in travel retail,” she added.
The Ted Baker SUN24 collection features in a ‘Get lost in eyewear’ campaign on social media.
