Ian Macleod Distillers is expanding its Scotch Whisky portfolio with the launch of a new Speyside Single Malt Scotch whisky, The White Cask, which will be unveiled at TFWA Cannes.

Exclusive to the travel retail channel for two years, The White Cask is a contemporary and accessibly priced malt. It targets style-driven consumers and bourbon and blended malt whisky drinkers seeking an appealing single malt proposition which resonates with their needs and attitudes.

The White Cask takes its name from the mighty North American White Oak (Quercus Alba), favoured by bourbon makers. It embodies the best of modern Scotch, an easy-going, alluring spirit, to be enjoyed long or short, straight or mixed.

The White Cask, The First-Fill Edition 1L (41.1% ABV) will be available from February next year as an on-going GTR exclusive expression. The specially selected white oak bourbon barrels deliver maximum flavour as it is the first occasion they have been used to mature Scotch whisky. With an attractive RRSP of £39, this flavour-led expression offers exceptional flavour and quality, with vanilla, honey, citrus and apple notes on the palate.

“We are thrilled to introduce The White Cask exclusively to the travel retail market. The White Cask is a new disruptive Scotch whisky which brings something unique to the category and complements our portfolio perfectly,” says Ian Macleod Distillers’ Global Travel Retail Director, William Ovens. “The White Cask is one of the few malts which appeals to the younger and more contemporary audience. The travel retail market is the perfect environment for us to seed the brand for a future domestic launch.”
