Shiseido Travel Retail Japan has unveiled a stunning Clé de Peau Beauté boutique in Kansai International Airport. Located in the South side of Terminal 1, this new store is the first of its kind for Clé de Peau Beauté in travel retail, offering consumers an exquisite experience that reflects the brand’s prestige and high standards.
The 56.5m2 shop, which opened its doors on 16 May 2019, features two dedicated make-up counters and a rest area, as well as hand massage and tea services – all of which create a luxurious experience for travellers. Personal Beauty Specialists are able to conduct a ‘Radiance Check’, a complete consultation that measures skin conditions such as tone, texture, or firmness. The store also features Clé de Peau Beauté’s full product line-up. To celebrate the opening, Clé de Peau Beauté is offering gifts with purchase: an Essential Refining Essence (30ml) for customers who spend over 10,000 JPY; and La Crème (5g) for those who spend over 30,000 JPY.
Mr Jun Kuwamoto, Vice-President Sales & Marketing of Shiseido Travel Retail Japan, said, “We are delighted to bring this boutique to Kansai International Airport. From conversations with our customers who expressed their expectation for our travel retail stores to have the ultimate experience with hospitality and specialist services, our travel retail team worked hard to develop this concept, with the inspiration and support from our landside operations team. We are proud to create an interactive space, where our customers can unlock the world of Clé de Peau Beauté for themselves.”
With its number one share in the prestige cosmetic sector in Japan, and the rapid and succeeding demand for door expansions in Asia, following its recent opening in China, the Clé de Peau Beauté boutique at Kansai International Airport represents another positive step forward for the brand’s growth in Asia. As the most frequently used airport by Chinese travellers in Japan and with 38% of its total travel retail sales generated by perfume and cosmetics, Kansai International Airport was selected as a key strategic platform for the brand’s expansion plans. Clé de Peau Beauté has been performing extremely well and achieved double digital growth in sales in Japan’s travel retail sector last year (compared to 2017).
