Glen Moray Speyside single malt Scotch whisky is evolving its packaging to celebrate the distillery’s expertise and reflect its whisky’s exceptional taste. With a more contemporary design and inviting flavour descriptions, the updated packaging, being rolled out globally, aims to appeal to those who are new to whisky as well as connoisseurs.

Glen Moray has been distilling the finest single malts and exploring how wood can influence whisky’s taste in Speyside, since 1897. Records show that the distillery’s founders aged their spirit in an astonishing array of casks. Their experimental ways still inspire Glen Moray’s craftsmen to this day.

Designed to provide a bolder, more contemporary look, encouraging consumers to explore Glen Moray, the changes have been made to labels and gift boxes across the brand’s Explorer range of six single malts. Its elegant design features a deeper, more vibrant version of the whisky’s iconic blue, balanced by bold colours which reflect the flavours of each whisky in the range. Bold shapes and straight lines on the label contrast with the roundness of Glen Moray’s traditional rounded bottle shape.

The new design celebrates Glen Moray’s long heritage with a more immersive illustration of the distillery and a refined version of the distillery’s historical emblem, which showcases the four pillars of Glen Moray’s whisky:

o Barley sheaf – reflecting the single malt’s key ingredient;
o Beehive – a tribute to the whisky’s honeyed taste;
o Cask – celebrating the distillery’s expertise in maturing and marrying casks;
o Ship – referencing Glen Moray’s global appeal.

Embracing its unique identity as a cask explorer since 1897, this new design hails Glen Moray’s experimental ways with casks, and guides drinkers’ through their journey by giving two-word flavour descriptions on front of pack for easy reference, followed by an inviting explanation of each whisky’s taste and cask influence.

“We are delighted to be rolling out our new packaging around the world. Glen Moray is an exceptional Speyside single malt whisky and by evolving the giftboxes and labels of our Explorer Range, we hope to appeal to more drinkers and better share our whisky’s story with consumers – encouraging them to discover and enjoy Glen Moray with friends.”
