The world’s largest Diageo-exclusive store has opened with Attenza Duty Free at Quito International Airport in Ecuador.
It is the latest stage of a partnership between Diageo Global Travel and Attenza Duty Free, the retail identity for operator Motta Internacional, which has increased permanent liquor sales opportunities in airports across the region.
The new 24-hour store, which measures 40sqm of retail space, is the largest personalised duty free store in the region for Diageo and the first of its kind for Motta Internacional. It features wall bays tailored to suit Diageo’s brands, including Johnnie Walker, Buchanan’s, Old Parr and Zacapa.
Commercial director for Diageo Global Travel Americas, Marcos Bibas, said: “The opening of this store in Motta Internacional is a shining example of the strength of our commitment to personalisation and transformation of the shopper experience in travel retail.
“The creation of such a unique proposition is testament to the strong and successful partnership we have developed with Motta Internacional.”
Located in the international departures concourse, the store also stocks travel retail-exclusive brands such as Johnnie Walker Island Green and Baileys XC and offers “experience fine drinking” services, featuring malts, white spirits and liqueurs from within the Diageo range.
