Ballantine’s, one of the world’s finest Scotch whiskies with the most comprehensive and innovative portfolio, has introduced its pinnacle whisky – the precious and exclusive Ballantine’s 40 Year Old – to customers at Asian duty-free stores and outlets.

Ballantine’s say there are just 100 bottles of this year’s release, with 32 of these available in Asia Travel Retail. The first was launched in Korea’s Seoul Incheon airport last month (October) with the rest now being rolled out to other locations across Asia.

The prestigious expression pays tribute to George Ballantine, founder and visionary of the eponymous Scotch brand, who wanted to create an exquisite and truly exceptional whisky. The launch of the masterpiece combines the collaboration of two modern Masters.

Ballantine’s Master Blender, Sandy Hyslop, has hand-blended Ballantine’s 40 Year Old, transforming the inspiring founder’s ultimate dream into a reality. In addition, Ballantine’s invited world-respected British Silversmith Richard Fox to utilise his unique craftsmanship and develop the Ballantine’s 40 Year Old bottle. It features the Ballantine’s crest and signature etched into the glass and inlaid with delicate gold along with five sterling silver elements: the stopper, collar, seal, label and base cup.

Each element is individually hallmarked by the London Assay office, a mark of silver quality for over 700 years and then carefully hand-applied to the bottle. Each bottle is engraved with a single number, from 1 to 100 and presented in a beautiful rich, dark wooden cabinet.

The launch of Ballantine’s 40 Year Old is brought to life in Asia Travel Retail stores through stunning visual displays, designed to echo the expression’s unique design and further reinforce its iconic status.

Ballantine’s 40 Year Old will be available in Korea’s Seoul Incheon airport, Japan International Airport (Narita AP Terminal 1, Haneda AP, Centair), Hong Kong International Airport and Singapore Changi Airport.
