Chinese fine jewellery designer Bao Bao Wan is collaborating with MAC Cosmetics on a make-up collection inspired by gemstone colours.
Bao Bao Wan and MAC Cosmetics are collaborating in a limited edition collection consisting of 9 products. Bao Bao Wan is China’s number one socialite, artist, pop philosopher, muse and jewellery designer. Many say she represents China’s modern woman – embodying sophistication, luxury and a little bit of edge. Set to hit stores in March 2015, the collection will be available for four weeks in 33 countries and territories and incorporates metallic golds and rich jewel tones, much like Bao Bao Wan’s jewellery designs.
” I drew a lot of inspirations from a jewellery designer’s point of view. The collection incorporated shades from my favourite rare gemstones, layered with multiple coats of gold.
“I’m very conservative with makeup color, and I’m very much about gold shades. I used my logic and my senses: I didn’t want any crazy colours in the collection, and I wanted it to be practical and to suit every skin tone,” Wan told the WWD news site.
