Italian fashion brand Coccinelle has unveiled a new S/S 2017 collection described as an ‘explosion of colour and easy appeal – an ode to the joy of life, softening the rules of elegance and seduction.’
Bags that treasure and keep emotions safe. Bags with essential and pure lines that contain different but connecting worlds, expressions of the many aspects of contemporary women today. “Original” rhymes with “familiar”.

The Spring/Summer collection breaks down into several themes:
INTERDIT DE GRANDIR, growing up is forbidden! Carefree, playful, fresh: these are the keywords for handbags and soft satchels that flirt with the glamour of the 50’s and 60’s. Only “lovely” details allowed. From pastels, which also dress the iconic B14, soft yellow, baby pink and light blue, to multi-coloured candies, cookie bag charms, and the bon ton bow of the cabas-passepartout. Its “très petite taille” is adorable: to be worn alone or adorning a larger bag.
GITANE, escape from routine. Chasing the multi-ethnic: a little rock-and-roll and a little globetrotter in spirit. Shoulder, travel and bucket bags are let loose, freed from constraints, privileging suede, leather, honeycomb canvas and gipsy embroideries. Focus is on the 70’s-inspired saddle bag, unlined and embellished by laser cuts and golden clasps. It changes face thanks to its two removable “guitar” shoulder straps: leather for the city and woven canvas for a touch of bohemian.
METROPOLE DU MONDE, front row at urban-life. Purity, rigor, simplicity. Strongminded bags to be worn every day, minimalistic and self-confident. White prevails, enhancing the cleanliness of each detail. The only concession to decoration is the rhythmic play of black and white, and the laser cut technique with an optical chiaroscuro effect.
MARINE, the sea in the city. Clean design, for a regatta on a sailing boat, and when yearning for a holiday becomes a regular part of your day. Backpacks, bucket bags and satchels, also in mini versions, come in solid colours – white, blue and red. And in men’s necktie-inspired micro prints, chic and effortless.
NAIF SWEET ENERGY, the desire to dream. Dreamlike and girly, it’s like entering a leather candy store: calf skin in macaron colour shades for the must-have Clessidra shoulder bag, ton-sur-ton enamel clasp for the Arlettis it-bag. Tasty “flower power” prints pop up everywhere, even on the travelling bag: daintiness, colour and good cheer.
URBAN ENERGY, “active lady”. On-trend awareness, functional minimalism. These are the codes of shoulder bags, satchels and shoppers that favour absolute comfort and total elegance. Innovative workwear: bi-colour, python-print leather, contrast linings and detailing.
NOMADIC ENERGY, freedom. Inspired by a warm, passionate and positive muse. The return of the briefcase, practical and dynamic. And the tote, with adjustable handles for two lengths – hand and shoulder. Shapes, stitching and metal studs are softened by the suppleness of suede, python-print and deer-print leather. Powdery pink and terracotta hues are borrowed from the deserts of California.
Scarves, jewellery and small leathergoods are also part the Coccinelle Spring/Summer 2017 collection.
