The Sicily bag is something of an icon – and now Dolce&Gabbana have updated their decade old designs with new colours and shapes.
Drawing inspiration from beautiful Sicily, the bag has a rich history in terms of style, ornamentation, and craftsmanship. The Sicily bag encapsulates the atelier of Dolce&Gabbana, infusing various elements of history, traditions, colours and femininity. Since its introduction in 2009, the bag has taken on many variations while remaining elegant, structured and recognisable through the different eras, characterised by a top handle fastened to two leather covered metal cylinders.
Inspired by date of births of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, born in 1958 and 1962 respectively, the latest Sicily 58 and 62 models are crafted with finest of French and Swiss leather, with a special treatment applied to guarantee a natural finish of the highest quality. The interior of the bag is practical and spacious, with the two compartments divided by a partition and adjustable leather straps. The straps make it possible to modify the capacity of the bag through small buttons and are embellished with an external Dolce&Gabbana plaque, made with an innovative system that allows for a two-tone effect.
A practical shopper which features a central opening on either side of the bag, and is available in two different sizes. The larger version is available in black, poppy red, deep blue sea, black-black onyx, while the small version is available in black, dark grey, powdery pink, poppy red, rose, yellow gold, Sicilian Terra/ebony, Bordeaux / mahogany and lavender.
Featuring the classic external flap-a key characteristic of the Sicily, as well as a back pocket. The large model is available in black, dark grey, poppy red, powdery pink, deep blue sea, black-black onyx, bluebottle, orange and mahogany. The smaller model is available in black, powdery pink, poppy red, deep blue sea, dark emerald green, periwinkle, lavender, optical white, plum and black/cuoio.
