The French fashion house signs Brit model Edie Campbell as their new face of fragrance, saying she embodies “all the contemporary codes of Yves Saint Laurent”
“Elegant, cultivated, spirited, she is a model with attitude,” said Stephane Bezy, international general manager of Yves Saint Laurent Beaute, of Edie Campbell, who has just been announced as the brand’s new fragrance ambassadress.
With a fashionably ‘cultivated’ upbringing (her mother Sophie Hicks was both a model and British Vogue editor), the British Fashion Awards Model of the Year 2013 crown, and numerous prestigous fashion campaigns including Louis Vuitton and Lanvin and, of course, Yves Saint Laurent ready-to-wear, “Edie embodies all the contemporary codes of the Yves Saint Laurent Beaute woman,” adds Bezy.
The London model’s first beauty contract, the first campaign of which will be revealed in September, Campbell may seem an unconventional choice for Yves Saint Laurent Beaute (she famously lobbed off her hair last March), but argues Bezy, “she has become a beauty icon for a whole generation. Today, she is joining the ambassadresses of our brand. And we’re so proud to welcome her.”
“I am truly honoured to become ambassadress for Yves Saint Laurent. The brand’s vision of beauty is very inspiring and I am particularly proud to represent such an audacious archetype of woman,” says Campbell, a job which she’ll do alongside fellow Brit models Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn already signed to the beauty brand.
