Fortnum’s flies into Heathrow

Fortnum & Mason has opened a new store and bar at London Heathrow Terminal 5.

The 1,000 square-foot store will offer the best of Fortnum’s food, drink and gifts to the 35 million-plus international travellers who pass through every year. This store opens eight months after F&M opened its first international store in Dubai, and a year after the launch of a store in St Pancras International Station, the brand’s first new store in 300 years.

“At Fortnum’s we have three centuries’ experience of serving customers travelling the globe,” says Fortnum’s CEO Ewan Venters, “so it’s fitting we should now serve passengers flying to some of the world’s most glamorous locations.”

The store will stock a selection of Fortnum & Mason’s food, drink and gifts, as well as traveller specific items. These include hampers, confectionery, preserves, teas and savoury treats including caviar and smoked salmon.

An exclusive new tea has been developed especially for visitors to the Heathrow T5 store – Explorers Blend. This tea contains a combination of leaves from around the world, including tea from Sri Lanka, India and China.

An accompanying bar will open in December, which will offer visitors a selection of Champagne, wines and spirits, as well as seasonal dishes from the Food Hall.
