About Duty Free Hunter:
- Duty Free Hunter is a truly ground-breaking service for travellers looking to do their duty free shopping at airports and in-flight. For the first time we have married global air schedules against the most comprehensive list of duty free and other airport stores providing a one-stop place for travellers to plan and prepare their duty free shopping journey.
- Clearly having the most accurate and up to date information on the airlines and airports that transport passengers is essential. To this end we have partnered with the world’s leading flight schedule authority, Innovata, to ensure we know exactly who flies where.
- Equally important is the database of stores operating inside each terminal at every airport. Here our own specialist database of the duty free and travel retail industry, The Decision Makers, has led the way. Alma Media, owner of Duty Free Hunter, has been at the heart of the duty free business for over 25 years and taking that knowledge has created a global registry of the shops and retailers who are serving travellers in the ground and in the air as they travel.
- Our aim is to keep this database as up to date as possible so if you spot something that is missing or incorrect please let us know via our contact form.
My wife stopped into the Logan International Shoppe and purchased two bottles of Wine. One was Kendall Jackson Vintner’s Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon at $28.00 US and one bottle of Kendall Jackson Vintner’s Reserve Chardonnay at $24.00 US. Since she was not familiar with the product she was happy paying the price, understanding, it’s a Duty Free Shop so it should certainly be a good purchase. When she arrived home and I explained, that no, it was actually a very bad purchase. After consulting several prices on the internet at regular liquor stores within the USA and around Boston, the price for the wines were $19.00 US and $13.00 US respectively on average. So really do not understand how this store is actually still in business if all their products are priced as such. In this case 85% and 45% increase in average cost. My understanding and I think the understanding of the general public is, that when you make a purchase at Duty Free, it is a real bargain. Certainly was not the case in wife’s purchase. I agree that the customer should be knowledgeable of their purchase and it really is your responsibility, but there is still a great deal to be said about what the perception is of DUTY FREE.
So customer beware at the Duty Free International Shoppe, Logan Airport.
