Louis Vuitton once again positions itself alongside LA-based artist Alex Israel, this time for a new FW19 collaboration showcasing Israel’s vibrant pop aesthetic. Consisting of eight pieces, the collection includes scarves, shawls, blankets, and a bandeau.
Israel’s silk scarves, which are cut from a technically innovative quilting technique, are a nod to his Wave paintings. On one side you will find a padded recreation of the artist’s Wave paintings, while the other highlights Louis Vuitton’s signature monogram pattern. The collaborative scarves are offered in four colour combinations across three sizes.
Next, the Sky Backdrop Monogram shawls are made from a silk and cashmere blend. Optioned in two colourways, the garment showcases Israel’s Sky Backdrop paintings.
The final piece from the FW19 collection is the double-sided Desperado bandeau, featuring a lucid desert scene with cacti and cars, pulling from the artist’s 2015 bronze sculpture, Desperado. The piece also includes a sky backdrop overprinted with LV monogram.
