Stuart Weitzman’s Fall 2019 Campaign, SW Boot Camp, celebrates women making bold, powerful moves in their daily lives.
In line with that, the campaign was produced alongside a group of trailblazing women, including photographer and director Charlotte Wales, stylist Clare Richardson and choreographer Danielle Polanco.
“I love the concept of SW Boot Camp,” says campaign star Kendall Jenner. “Fall really is the season when everyone is on the top of their fashion game, feeling powerful, confident and ready to make moves.”
Scene II: #SWSTRENGTH, starring Kendall Jenner and featuring dance sensation Lil Buck, takes this concept to the next level as it further conveys the story of movement as a source of power.
ABOUT SCENE II: #SWSTRENGTH
#SWSTRENGTH depicts femininity as a source of strength for both women and men, while highlighting how SW boots inspire the confidence to dance through life’s challenges. It features Kendall Jenner and Lil Buck moving effortlessly and in complete synchronicity with one another through drill-inspired choreography — each wearing fall’s breakout style, the MCKENZEE combat boot.
“I wasn’t told to dance a certain way, I was just told to do my own thing,” Lil Buck says of his experience. “I could glide across the floor however I wanted to. It was really freeing.”
BEHIND THE SCENES
The scene was brought to life through both a dynamic short film and commanding complementary images thanks to some of the most trailblazing women in the creative arts, including photographer and director Charlotte Wales, stylist Clare Richardson and choreographer Danielle Polanco.
“I wasn’t told to dance a certain way, I was just told to do my own thing,” Lil Buck says of his experience. “I could glide across the floor however I wanted to. It was really freeing.”
As for his interactions with Kendall Jenner? “She’s so open to challenging herself and learning new things, which made the experience really fun,” Lil Buck says. “And she can move. I’ve seen it for myself — she can move.”
THE MCKENZEE BOOT: ALL THE DETAILS
The MCKENZEE delivers SW’s take on the classic combat boot silhouette — the unequivocal trend of Fall 2019 — with a completely monochromatic approach. In fact, everything from the smooth calf upper to the hardware to the soles to the laces are designed to match. The lightweight lug-sole boot is just as versatile and comfortable as a sneaker, thus staying true to the brand’s DNA of melding fashion, function and fit.
MCKENZEE STAR
The MCKENZEE STAR, a limited-edition version of the MCKENZEE, features embroidered SW Star motifs — a new brand code for Stuart Weitzman. The SW Star is inspired by the biggest star in the universe, the sun, and symbolises the fiery energy of women and their power to light the way for the future.
MCKENZEE MEN’S
We’re making SW history with limited-edition MCKENZEE MEN’S, the brand’s first-ever menswear design. An interpretation of the women’s MCKENZEE engineered specifically with a men’s fit, this mid-calf boot symbolises looking to femininity as style inspiration and a source of strength. And there was no better person to debut this boundary-breaking boot than Lil Buck. The star dancer and founder of Movement Art Is, an organisation that uses movement artistry to inspire change in the world, is featured wearing the dark emerald leather version in the campaign.
“I wear boots a lot when I just want to take the world by storm,” Lil Buck says. “With these boots I felt like a badass on set dancing with Kendall. I loved wearing them.”
