Set for release in late September 2016, Beam Suntory GTR will launch Bowmore 10 Year Old exclusively in European and Asia Pacific Travel Retail for a limited time only.

Inspired by the legendary Devil’s Casks series, Bowmore 10 Year Old is also aged in Oloroso sherry and red wine casks, and pays tribute to the iconic story of the Devil on Islay with its fiery, spicy flavour.

Released just in time for the festive gifting period, Bowmore 10 Year Old offers a remarkable liquid available exclusively to travellers and is a great addition to any whisky collection.


THE DEVIL ON ISLAY
Paying homage to The Devil’s Casks series, this 10 year old whisky is inspired by the time-honoured tale of the Devil on Islay. Legend has it that Islay was once the home to the Devil himself. On previous sightings, it is said that the Devil was chased through the village of Bowmore into the gates of Islay’s first distillery. They searched every inch for him, but the Devil was nowhere to be seen; he was thought to have escaped inside a cask of Bowmore, bound for the mainland.

After being matured in Oloroso Sherry Casks and Red Wine Barriques at the home of the legendary No.1 Vaults, the whiskies are then expertly married together – resulting in a velvety liquid with intense flavours of treacle and smooth leather with a devilish twist of fiery spice, fruit and sweetness:

Dry Oloroso Sherry captivates with its dark, fruity aromas with notes of figs and raisins, resulting in a smooth, dark and indulgent liquid.

Red Wine injects a fiery twist from the darkest red grapes producing a sublime velvet taste of dark chocolate fudge infused with spicy dark fruit.

DEVILISHLY REWARDING
Evoke the senses with this deep mahogany liquid. Breathe in the rich sherried sweetness with dates and sultanas smothered in the indulgence of treacle toffee, pecan and maple syrup. Give in to temptation and sip the sublime velvet taste of dark chocolate fudge infused with spicy-dark fruit, sea salt and walnut oil. Finally, savour the long-lasting finish with sun-dried raisins and salted treacle.
