At $5,500 this could be a step to far in the protection of your precious Apple iPhone, but nevertheless Louis Vuitton has launched its latest range of phone cases called the Eye-Trunk…

Louis Vuitton has recently unveiled a new collection of cases for the Apple iPhone 7 and 7 Plus called Eye-Trunk cases, a play on the i and a nod to the famous luggage trunks which for the brand’s heritage. However these cases are not for the price sensitive with the most expensive model priced at $5,500.

There are cheaper alternatives in the collection with prices dropping down to $1,180 for the entry level Monogram edition.

Louis Vuitton says “The Eye-Trunk for iPhone 7 seen at Louis Vuitton Fashion Show pays a tribute to the House origins as a trunk designer. More than a protective cover, this new Nicolas Ghesquière statement establishes itself as the ultimate fashionable accessory of the season.”

The traditional Monogram version (below) costs $1,180 for an iPhone 7 and $1,250 for an iPhone 7 Plus. There’s an orginal version, and reversed version and an Eclipsed version:

Here it is in Monogram Reverse...There's a Monogram Eclipse version, too: a black and gray version with the company's famous logo.
Here's what the Eclipse case looks like from the front. On its website, Louis Vuitton says the cases are "more than a protective cover." Instead, the case "establishes itself as the ultimate fashionable accessory of the season."
