Louis Vuitton’s latest bag release offers a fun, modern twist on the iconic monogram canvas.

The historic Popincourt bag is back, with a trendy new attitude. In Monogram canvas and natural leather trim, this contemporary tote offers easy-going style as well as flawless functionality.

In Nicolas Ghesquiere’s tenure at the helm of Louis Vuitton, the brand has done a lot of work to re-imagine how it approaches its leather handbag business, reports the Purseblog website. Coated canvas has always been Vuitton’s bread and butter, even if the brand would like to raise its full-leather profile, it will likely always be the first thing on the majority of LV shoppers’ minds. One of the latest monogram bags from the brand in a while is the Louis Vuitton Popincourt Tote.

Like January’s very well-received Monogram Colours bags (see story), this new design takes the iconic LV monogram canvas and pairs it with sleek, colourful trim in a way that feels like a significant modernisation relative to Marc Jacobs-era Vuitton. The Popincourt, which comes in two sizes, looks both casual and current – the lack of ornate finishes and the exposed, off-centre front zip give the bag a fresh, unfussy look.

The two currently available sizes, PM and MM, differ in width and height be about an inch and a half each, with the PM’s dimensions measuring in at 12.6″w x 8.3″h x 5.1″ and the MM’s at 14.1″w x 10″h x 5.7″d. The bag features a full zip top and trim-tonal interior, and both sizes come with an optional shoulder strap.
