Puma x MCM collaboration gets set for launch

Launching soon Puma x MCM, a limited-edition collection that pays tribute to the early days of hip-hop and music culture.

The PUMA Suede was born in Germany in 1968. Eight years later (also in Germany), MCM’s Visetos Monogram Logo made its debut. Both have been rocked by hip-hop royalty across the decades. Now, two legends collide in the PUMA X MCM Suede – adorned with MCM’s monogram and re-imagined for the hip-hop royalty of today.

Inspired by the DIY spirit of hip-hop’s founding era, Puma x MCM celebrates today’s new urban icons with monogrammed footwear and apparel that looks and feels fresh.

Launched with and exclusive preview at New York’s Tribeca Film Festival, Puma x MCM will be available online and in stores from May 24th.

The capsule collection consists of three unique Puma Suede colourways: a brown/black, a white/grey and an exclusive red/white/blue edition. All three shoes boast an upper constructed of MCM’s deluxe Visetos canvas, and feature a bright brass plate on the tongue with a unique registration number, nodding to the German luxury brand’s famous handbags. The collaborative Suede’s high-end look is completed with two sets of laces: edge-stained premium leather and classic fabric Puma laces with metal tips.

Accompanying the shoes are two classic co-branded Puma T7 tracksuits, black/brown and red/white/blue that offer a classic slouchy fit. The shoes retail at $340 USD while the track jacket is $300 and the pants are $250.

The brown/black and white/grey colourways of the shoes will be available at select Puma stockists worldwide, while the red/white/blue colorway is exclusive to MCM’s retail locations and webstore. If you’re looking for a chance to get your hands on this high end, old school hip hop-inspired collaboration, it’ll be available on May 24th from Puma.com, Puma stockists, and MCM.
