Rémy Cointreau Global Travel Retail (GTR) has unveiled the latest addition to its St-Rémy Cask Finish Collection – Islay Scotch Whisky Casks. The new expression includes a maturation stage in oak casks that previously held Islay single malt Scotch whisky, and is launched as a limited edition exclusively for Dubai Duty Free with only 1,968 individually numbered bottles.

St-Rémy Cask Finish Collection celebrates Master Blender Cecile Roudaut’s expertise in maturing St-Rémy brandy in various types of casks. This collection is true to St-Rémy’s heritage in distilling, aging and crafting elegant French grape brandies since 1886.

Hervé Buzon, Global Brand Director for St-Rémy, says, “This latest addition to our Cask Finish Collection joins St-Rémy’s exceptional portfolio, and offers yet another unique twist to this premium taste, which we are pleased to offer exclusively to Dubai Duty Free clients.”

Sebastien Devallet, Managing Director, Europe, Middle East, Africa and the Americas, Rémy Cointreau Global Travel Retail, says, “Rémy Cointreau and Dubai Duty Free have held a strong partnership for many years. Last year, we launched the first release of the Cask Finish Collection, the French Chardonnay Cask Finish, together and had an amazing response from shoppers at Dubai International Airport. We are proud to extend our partnership with the release of another exceptional St-Rémy brandy, the Islay Scotch Whisky Cask Finish, and we expect this latest product innovation to prove hugely successful with clients again.”

Colm McLoughlin, Executive Vice Chairman & CEO, Dubai Duty Free says, “Part of Dubai Duty Free’s mission is to offer our customers unique and exceptional quality products in a world-class shopping environment, so we are always pleased to introduce products that are both exclusive and limited-edition. St-Rémy has been a supporter of ours for many years and we are delighted to bring our customers another release from the Cask Finish Collection.”

Appearance – Light golden, clear amber.
Nose – Sweet, gentle peatiness with hints of barley, iodine and citrus notes.
Palate – Rich depth. The peat brings a warmth with finesse between the softness of the smoke and the power of the barley, that contrasts with the freshness of the fruit (peach and apricot) and the richness of the spice (cloves). The aromas are strengthened by Islay sea breeze, a zest of citrus and woody notes.
