DFS Group partners with Brown-Forman to celebrate 150 years of Jack Daniel’s Distillery. Travellers will enjoy the year-long celebration at DFS stores in airports across Asia and North America – and the chance to buy exclusive bottles of Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel.

DFS Group will be joining Brown-Forman Global Travel Retail in a year-long celebration of the 150th Anniversary of the Jack Daniel’s Distillery in Tennessee. The Jack Daniel’s anniversary-related promotional activities will take place in DFS stores in airports in North America, Hong Kong, Singapore and India.

Jack Daniel founded the now world-famous Tennessee distillery in 1866 at the source of limestone water flowing from a cave spring. Jack Daniel’s has been at the forefront of whiskey-making ever since and is now sold in more than 165 countries around the world.

A highlight of the DFS’ Jack Daniel’s promotional activity will be the selection of unique individual barrels of Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel to be bottled and sold at DFS airport stores in New York (JFK), San Francisco (SFO), Los Angeles (LAX) and Honolulu (HON) as well as Hong Kong (HKG) and Singapore (SIN). These barrels were selected by DFS teams whilst working with Jack Daniel’s Master Distiller Jeff Arnett and Assistant Master Distiller Chris Fletcher in obtaining a well-rounded flavour with a perfect balance of sweet caramel, vanilla and spice. The bottles can only be purchased in those particular DFS outlets and each bottle will carry a special DFS and 150th Anniversary medallion.

In addition, Chris Fletcher, who has served as the Jack Daniel’s assistant master distiller since 2014, made a special appearance on the evening of May 9, 2016 at the Raffles Bar in the Changi Terminal 3 Departure Duplex store. While there, he discussed the rich history of the Jack Daniel’s Distillery and signed the special DFS 150th Anniversary bottles. Fletcher offers an unusual insight into the history of the distillery because his grandfather was former Master Distiller, Frank Bobo, and as a young boy he would frequently accompany him to work.

Commenting on the participation of DFS in the Jack Daniel’s Distillery 150th Anniversary celebration, Finbar Boyle, Director of Brown-Forman Travel Retail for Asia/Pacific, noted that the luxury travel retail company and the Tennessee Whiskey were, and always have been, a good match.

“Both Jack Daniel’s and DFS have long-held reputations for high quality and authenticity. It is only natural that DFS would partner with us in celebrating this outstanding milestone in the storied history of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey,” he said.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Jack Daniel’s to celebrate this important milestone exclusively at DFS stores around the world,” said Brooke Supernaw, DFS Group’s Senior Vice President, Spirits, Wine and Tobacco. “Here at DFS we’re committed to providing travelers with exceptional product and memorable experiences and we’re confident customers will love joining in on the year-long celebration of Jack Daniel’s unique heritage and exclusive product.”
