A year since the Jura Single Malt Whisky relaunched with a collection of new whiskies – including five exclusive expressions for duty-free – Jura has launched a pair of exceptional new 21 year old whiskies in honour of their island home.
Jura Time and Tide are a pair of exceptional 21 year old whiskies. With not one, but two 21 year old expressions, Jura offers a classic Single Malt age statement popular with enthusiast whisky consumers worldwide. The pair are produced to strict allocation due to the limited availability of Jura’s older aged maturing inventory.
Jura Single Malt whisky has enjoyed exceptional growth since re-launch, achieving +274% in the region in 2018*. Jura 21 Years Old Time will be exclusively available for purchase in Global Travel Retail.
Located off the west coast of Scotland, the isle of Jura is home to a tiny island community of roughly 212 islanders, one road, one pub and one distillery. Since 1810 the unique island malt distillery has been at the heart of the community. Jura 21 Years Old Time is presented in a beautiful sand blasted bottle, as if polished smooth by the Atlantic tide that laps the shores of Jura.
“The new Jura 21 Year old pair, Time and Tide, amplify our island provenance story and capture the irresistible essence of what makes Jura so unique – a place where it’s easy to lose track of time,” says Kirsteen Beeston, Jura Global Head of Brand.
The Single Malt whisky produced on Jura is much loved by whisky consumers worldwide and these two new expressions offer a unique point of difference for collectors and key trade channels. Jura 21 Years Old Tide will be released for domestic markets, whilst Jura Time is the exclusive release for Global Travel Retail and will launch at TFWA Asia Pacific in May 2019.
“The worldwide relaunch of Jura in Global Travel Retail has driven significant commercial success with momentum building in all key regions globally. The addition of the new Jura Years 21 Old Time reinforces our commitment to offering our customers prestige and limited whiskies of outstanding quality to drive penetration and spend in travel retail stores, ” comments Richard Trimby, Global Travel Retail Director, Whyte & Mackay.
Jura Time is matured for 21 years in American White Oak ex-bourbon barrels, the perfect maturation partner for the light, citrus and grassy new make spirit distilled on island. It is then enhanced with a smoky finish in ex-peated malt casks. The result is seductive sweetness with a salted peat smoke edge. Produced in small batches, each whisky will carry the year of bottling to denote the subtle variations in the batches as they are assembled each year.
