Lindt & Sprüngli Travel Retail is updating its much-loved Lindt premium chocolate range with new brands, formats and pack redesigns in 2022, providing more magic moments for travelling shoppers and new sales opportunities for travel retailers.

Prominent global brand Lindt LINDOR will be available in a new LINDOR Bag Milk 100g format to meet growing demand for self-treating and on-the-go snacking. When surveyed about the product, 88% of shoppers said they found the smaller 100g bag format appealing. Containing eight irresistibly smooth melting LINDOR chocolate truffles, LINDOR Bag Milk 100g is certain to be a popular choice among busy travellers looking for an indulgent treat while on the move.

Lindt & Sprüngli Travel Retail will also bring the popular Lindt NUXOR brand to the travel retail market for the first-time next year. NUXOR pralines combine velvety gianduja chocolate with roasted whole hazelnuts to create a unique, luxurious taste sensation. NUXOR will be presented in elegant gold ballotins available in classic Milk 165g and travel retail exclusive Milk & Dark Assorted 165g variants, making them an ideal gift for loved ones or as an individual treat.

In addition, the bestselling Lindt NAPOLITAINS range will be relaunched with a new eye-catching pack design to increase visual appeal and grow awareness of the brand among shoppers. Changes will include more visible on-pack messages to clearly communicate the six NAPOLITAINS flavours and the number of chocolate pieces contained within each box. More prominent side of pack graphics will add to the indulgent, high quality feel of the product, while an optimised pack footprint will improve value for money perception with consumers. The revamped/redesigned NAPOLITAINS range will be supported with a POS activation under the theme of ‘Time to Travel’.

The latest launches will enable travel retailers to take full advantage of the all-important gifting category, which continues to be a key consideration for duty free shoppers. Recent studies have shown that half of European travellers will most likely consider buying confectionery for a gifting occasion, especially when travelling for leisure or visiting friends and family. With the Lindt brand’s reputation as a leading gifting proposition with a multitude of products covering different needs and price points – with LINDOR as the hero brand – Lindt & Sprüngli Travel Retail is well placed to help travel retailers drive sales and profits from this trend.

Sustainability is also a growing concern among travelling consumers, especially millennial shoppers. Sustainability plays a key role at Lindt & Sprüngli. Lindt & Sprüngli takes on responsibility from the selection of the cocoa beans to the production of the finished chocolate products – from “bean to bar”. That’s why they developed their own sustainability program for cocoa beans: the Lindt & Sprüngli Farming Program. The Program strives for ecologically and socially responsible cultivation and supports farmers, their families and their communities. The Lindt & Sprüngli Farming Program reached a significant milestone, with 100% of cocoa beans now traceable back to their origin and externally verified.
