Ian Macleod Distillers is showcasing its single malt expertise in its largest ever activation, which features Tamdhu and Glengoyne single malt whiskies with World Duty Free at Edinburgh Airport this month.
During the June whisky festival, Tamdhu and Glengoyne dominate the store with a stunning feature wall, two tasting and education areas and two high quality bespoke gifts with purchase.
Consumers are able to select from a range of award winning GTR exclusive expressions, namely: Tamdhu Ámbar 14 year old (RRP £69.99) and Tamdhu Gran Reserva First Edition (RRP £149.99) and Tamdhu Single Cask (RRP £279.00). The latter was launched exclusively with World Duty Free at Edinburgh Airport, with only 597 bottles available. Travellers receive a Victorian style tasting glass with every bottle of Tamdhu purchased.
Shoppers seeking a Highland Single Malt can choose from the travel retail exclusive Glengoyne Spirit of Oak Collection. This includes two expressions, Glengoyne Cuartillo (RRP £49.95) and Glengoyne Balbaína (RRP £58.95), as well as two limited, high end expressions, Glengoyne Pedro Xíménez Cask Finish (RRP £89) and the very scarce Glengoyne 28 Year Old (RRP £420). Those spending over £50 will receive a box of luxury handmade chocolates from double winner of the World’s Best Truffles, Iain Burnett – The Highland Chocolatier, which have been specially selected to perfectly complement each Glengoyne Spirit of Oak expression.
Ian Macleod Distillers’ Whisky Experiential Ambassador, Gordon Dallas is on hand for the duration of the activation, sharing his extensive knowledge of Scotch whisky.
“We are delighted to work in partnership with World Duty Free on this fine showcase for our Travel Retail exclusive single malt whisky portfolio,” explains Ian Macleod Distillers’ Travel Retail Director, William Ovens.
“This is the first time we have delivered such a large scale airport activation focused on our malt whisky range and are delighted with the opportunity to introduce more shoppers to the outstanding expressions our Master Distillers have created. Initial reaction from consumers has been extremely encouraging”.
