Chivas 18 Ultimate Cask Collection First Fill Japanese Oak is a new limited-edition Travel Retail exclusive being launched this month. The new line is the third and last edition in a series of ultra-premium travel retail exclusive blends from Chivas, the original luxury blended Scotch whisky.
An indulgent and intense interpretation of the best that Chivas 18 has to offer via a unique cask finish, Chivas 18 Ultimate Cask Collection First Fill Japanese Oak will be activated in-store with tastings and gifting opportunities across various global airports. In particular, these events will take place in Tokyo airport from October 2018 and in London Heathrow airport from December 2018. To reach travellers at the right place and time on their Travel Trail journey in Japan, Pernod Ricard Global Travel Retail is utilising an array of digital platforms such as price comparison apps, WeChat Moment Ads, Facebook geo-fencing and programmatic media.

Each drop of the 18-year-old blended Scotch whisky is finished in First Fill Japanese Oak casks, a rarity even amongst Japanese whiskies. The remarkable casks are made using delicate Japanese Mizunara Oak up to 200 years old, making them difficult to source and complex to work with. Handcrafted by a team of talented and highly experienced master coopers, the oak imparts wonderfully well-balanced notes of sweet clementine, pears, vanilla and exotic spices. The resulting finish is an intriguing marriage of Scottish complexity and passion with Japanese elegance and refinement. This exquisite blend is non-chill filtered to maintain its deep amber hue and bottled at a special strength of 48% ABV to further concentrate the flavour notes in every single drop.

A Global Travel Retail exclusive until stock lasts, the collection will launch in October 2018 across a wide range of retailers in EMEA, Gulf and North Asia, before reaching India, South East Asia and Pacific in November, and the Americas in December.
